FAQs and quick answers
What is covered under the Being active benefit?
The Being active benefit previously provided up to $50 per claims year for reimbursement of entry fees paid to participate in, and complete, an organised sporting event or tournament (eg. Auckland Marathon, Round the Bays).
To have been eligible for the benefit, you must have had continuous cover under an eligible plan for more than 3 years. The benefit did not cover monthly gym membership fees, unofficial sports events or events that do not require physical exertion or skill. Eligibility criteria applied.
This benefit is no longer available for events held on or after 1 April 2026.
If you completed an eligible event before 1 April 2026, you can still submit a claim, provided you meet the eligibility criteria and supply the required documentation.
