Why do my friends and family have a different sign in process for the app?
The new sign in experience is being rolled out in stages. If you are being asked to enter your username and password you may not have the new version yet. If auto updates are enabled, you will see the new sign in process when the update has been made available to you.
Otherwise, you can check the app store / Google Play Store to see if the new version is available.
