Southern Cross Health Society teamed with the Human Resource Institute of New Zealand (HRINZ) to establish industry benchmarks around key metrics, such as employer funded health insurance, and to understand the role they play in driving business performance. The below are key findings from this study undertaken in June 2016 among HR professionals and HRINZ members.

  • Over 1/4 believe offering employer funded health insurance is an effective way of attracting and retaining staff 
  • Of those surveyed, over half of the companies who offer employer funded health believe it's an effective acquisition tool 
  • Flexibility in different forms (whether work arrangements, leave or pay) are all seen as key acquisition drivers
