What happens if I’m asked to pay a member contribution?
If you are asked to pay a member contribution for a healthcare service, you have the option of:
- choosing an alternative health services provider who has reasonable charges; or
- keeping your preferred health services provider but paying an additional contribution towards the healthcare service.
We can suggest health services providers whose charges we have identified as reasonable based on our claims data, but this is not necessarily an indication of their current fees. Health services providers set their own charges, which can vary over time.
Please seek prior approval as early as possible to enable us to determine the extent of your cover.
