Board member change at Southern Cross Travel Insurance
Today, Southern Cross Travel Insurance (SCTI) is announcing the appointment of Dr Dwayne Crombie to the Board. He steps into the role as long standing director Julia Raue completes her term.
SCTI is the leading travel insurer in New Zealand and is increasing its footprint in Australia.

Dr Crombie who has been on the Southern Cross Health Society board since 2022 says of his new appointment, “I see the essential role SCTI plays in our customers’ adventures and lives, and I am really looking forward to working with the team to support growth in our reach and impact across Australasia.”
Dr Crombie has more than three decades of senior executive experience across Australasia in both the public and private sectors, and extensive governance experience. For seven years until 2020, he led Bupa Health Insurance, the largest health insurer in Australia. Dwayne is Chair of Repromed New Zealand and InLife Independent Living and is also a board member for the Southern Cross Health Trust (and subsidiary) Boards, the Health Society Board and is a Trustee of the Health Society.
Dr Crombie’s appointment took effect from 30 September 2025.
