My Food Bag joins Southern Cross Pet Insurance to promote Paws Off!

Tuesday , 23 May 2023 by Sue Hamilton

This week thousands of My Food Bag customers will be better clued up on what not to feed their beloved pets to prevent illness. It’s all part of a ground-breaking campaign, Paws Off!, from Southern Cross Pet Insurance (SCPI) and the NZ Veterinarian Association (NZVA), to help pet owners ensure their beloved furbabies live their best lives for longer.

“We launched Paws Off! a few weeks ago with a call out to food and beverage suppliers to get on board and change the way they communicate to their customers to help us all save more pets’ lives – or at least prevent unwanted trips to a vet with food-related illnesses,” says Bridgette Muir of SCPI.

“We are beyond excited to be working with My Food Bag to help get the message out. This week thousands of Kiwi homes received info they can keep, to remind them about what not to share, plus a way to treat their fur babies and themselves with a scrumptious cookie recipe.”

Anya Saikkonen, Head of Marketing at My Food Bag says, “We’re all about delicious, nutritious dinners for Kiwi families and while we offer something for everyone, sometimes the ingredients we supply our customers aren’t safe for Fido, Bella, or Cruz. It was a no-brainer to get on board and share the Paws Off! message with our customers.”

Thousands of customers received information this week on what not to share, plus a fridge magnet and a delicious recipe, designed by the team at My Food Bag. The recipe is human and pet friendly – perfect for filling lunchboxes and treat jars alike.
