Nick Astwick: CEO - Southern Cross Medical Care Society

Nick joined the Society in 2017 on the back of a successful career with Kiwibank, where he was Chief Operating Officer for a number of years. Nick has more than 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry in various leadership and governance roles across retail and investment banking organisations. In addition to his CEO role, Nick is also a Director on a number of Southern Cross subsidiary Boards and, outside Southern Cross, is Chair of Leadership New Zealand.

Chris White: CEO - Southern Cross Health Trust

Chris was appointed CEO of the Southern Cross Health Trust in 2022. He is also CEO of the Trust’s largest subsidiary – Southern Cross Healthcare. Chris joined Southern Cross Healthcare as Chief Operations Officer in 2020 after three years in a CEO role on the insurance side of Southern Cross. A highly experienced executive and CEO, Chris is skilled in business leadership, strategy and governance and has held executive roles in manufacturing and financial services. He sits on the boards of a number of Southern Cross Healthcare's joint ventures and has previously held external governance roles.

Jo McCauley: CEO - Southern Cross Benefits Limited

Jo McCauley was appointed CEO of Southern Cross Benefits in 2020. Southern Cross Benefits trades as Southern Cross Travel Insurance, and is one of New Zealand's leading travel insurers. With over two decades of experience in financial services, customer and proposition roles, Jo has led marketing, sales and product teams in both the UK and NZ to deliver outstanding growth. Jo’s career has focused on supporting brands operating in an online, direct to consumer and retail financial services environment.
