Giving Kiwi kids a helping hand

We’ve joined forces with the Pause Breathe Smile charitable trust and the Mental Health Foundation to help equip New Zealand children with the essential skills they need to navigate the ups and downs of everyday life.

Pause Breathe Smile with Southern Cross is a preventive mind health programme available free of charge to school kids aged five to 12 across New Zealand.

The programme has reached hundreds of schools and many thousands of children, boosting their wellbeing, conflict resolution skills and self-awareness, and reducing stress.

No cost to schools

Our involvement makes it possible for Pause Breathe Smile to be available free of charge to any primary and intermediate school in the country.

Our flagship programme

Southern Cross is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of Kiwi kids.

Funded by Southern Cross Healthcare, Pause Breathe Smile is our flagship social responsibility programme and one we are incredibly proud to partner with. Our not-for-profit ethos and focus on health and wellbeing are a great fit with this preventive mind health programme.
