Shining a light on New Zealand’s
health and wellbeing.

As New Zealand’s leading independent health and wellness provider, Southern Cross is committed to inspiring Kiwis to advance their health and wellbeing.

We are putting New Zealand’s health and wellbeing under the microscope with the release of the Healthy Futures Report – the result of a long-term study to help us better understand what’s on the minds of Kiwis when it comes to their health.

The research, which will examine the state of New Zealanders’ health and wellbeing every two years, was undertaken by New Zealand’s most recognised market research agency, Colmar Brunton.

The study tracked the health and wellbeing attitudes and behaviours of more than 3,000 Kiwis - starting in 2019 and continuing through to alert levels 4 and 3 during New Zealand’s COVID-19 lockdown.

The Healthy Futures Report presents a complex picture that shows influences on New Zealander’s health and wellbeing are multi-faceted and increasingly varied.
It analyses Kiwis’ physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing by examining indicators such as nutrition, exercise, sleep, relationships, stress, travel, work-life balance and social connection.
Southern Cross works with over a million Kiwis and cares about the future of New Zealand. This report is a landmark for change for the health and wellbeing of our nation.
