'How will you Take Life Back in 2019?' Competition

Terms and conditions


  1. This Competition will run for the period 31 January 2019 to 7 February 2019 (the ‘Promotional Period’).


  2. Any ‘Eligible Applicant’ who:

    1. comments on the ‘How will you Take Life Back in 2019?’ post on the Take Life Back NZ Instagram page; or


    2. comments on the ‘How will you Take Life Back in 2019?’ post on the Southern Cross Health Society Facebook page; or


    3. shares a photo or video on either of the above posts

    during the Promotional Period and who meets the eligibility criteria below will be entered into the Competition to win one prize (the Prize) of:

    • one pair of sunglasses from the OPSM website up to the value of $350 (the winner can choose which pair they want).

  3. Eligibility Criteria:
    To be eligible, the comment, photo or video must communicate clearly one way the entrant wants to change to live a healthier life. Photos do not have to include a person in them, they could be from the perspective of the entrant taking the photo or video. They can include friends or family, provided the entrant has notified everyone included in the photo that it will be published on social media and entered into this Competition, and received their express permission for that purpose. The entrant must be the owner of the photo/video and/or the public Instagram account used to upload the photo. Entries must not be adjusted or digitally altered in any way.  Any entry which Southern Cross Medical Care Society (Southern Cross) considers, in its sole discretion, to be offensive will not be eligible.  In addition, the Southern Cross Social Media House Rules apply to the Competition and entries which contravene those House Rules will be ineligible.

  4. Southern Cross Healthcare Group staff members or their families are not eligible to enter the Competition.

  5. Only one entry per person will be entered into the competition.

  6. By entering the Competition, you agree that Southern Cross may republish your entry on its website. In addition, if you are the prize winner, you will give Southern Cross a perpetual, non-transferable and non-exclusive licence to use the winning comment, photo or video externally via its social media channels and in internal communications, at any time in the future, with no additional permission or payment required.

  7. Entry into the Competition is deemed to be acceptance of these terms and conditions.

  8. A Southern Cross representative will select the prize winner from all of the valid entries on Thursday 7 February 2019. The winning entry will be the entry which Southern Cross considers, at its sole discretion, best illustrates the entrant ‘taking life back’.  Southern Cross’ decision is final.

  9. The winner will be notified by Southern Cross via direct message on social media or email and confirmed via phone once a confirmed phone number has been received.

  10. If Southern Cross is unable to contact the prize winner within 10 business days following the selection of the prize winner, a new prize winner may be chosen, in which case the first prize winner will forfeit their Prize.

  11. Southern Cross is not liable for any loss, damage or injury by any person in connection with the Competition or the Prize. Specifically, Southern Cross is not responsible for the performance of the Prize.

  12. The prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash.
