What sort of plan is this?

Wellbeing is a modular plan that can be tailored to your specific needs. You begin with a base plan for in-hospital surgical and medical treatment, and then add other types of cover based on your needs and budget.

What level of reimbursement does it offer?

A Wellbeing plan will reimburse you the lowest of the actual costs, reasonable charges, or policy limits as detailed in the policy document for eligible healthcare services. For full details including limitations and exclusions please refer to the policy document

What does this plan include?

Wellbeing One is your basic safety net. It covers medically-necessary surgical treatment and related expenses incurred within four months of surgical treatment, medical hospitalisation and other healthcare services. (You also have the option to add the BodyCare module - see optional modules section below).

Wellbeing Two expands the safety net to include consultations, imaging and tests whether or not you undergo surgical treatment even if you don’t have to go to hospital. You can also select from a range of three optional modules for day-to-day healthcare services (see optional modules section below).

  Optional modules include:

Body Care module includes preventative, allied and natural healthcare (like chiropractic consultations).

Day-to-day care module includes day to day medical care, like doctor consultations, prescriptions and physiotherapy consultations and treatment.

Vision and Dental Care module includes dental consultations and treatment, and optometrist consultations and prescription glasses.

How affordable is this plan?

Because a Wellbeing plan can be tailored by adding modules, you can fit it to your budget.

You can also choose to have an excess, which means you’ll pay part of your claim cost in return for a reduced premium.

You may be able to further lower your premiums through our:

  • healthy lifestyle reward - if you have a healthy lifestyle (and aren’t part of a subsidised work scheme) we’ll reduce your premiums for up to two years; or
  • low claims reward ► if you don’t claim over the low claims threshold.

Joining through your work scheme?

A further Healthy Workplace module option - providing an alternative to the Day-to-day care module for day to day medical care - may be available through some employer’s work schemes.

How do you get this plan?

The Wellbeing plan is available directly from Southern Cross or it may be available through your employer work scheme.
