Southern Cross in your workplace
Are you an employee?
Many workplaces have a Southern Cross health insurance scheme for their employees. Sometimes the employer pays all or some of the premiums (called subsidised work schemes), or otherwise you pay the premiums yourself. Either way, a health insurance work scheme is usually more affordable than you joining Southern Cross as an individual. And often you can include your partner and children on your policy.
If your employer has a health insurance work scheme with Southern Cross, talk to your HR department or manager about how the scheme works. Here are some questions to ask:
- Is the scheme subsidised? (Subsidised means that the employer pays all or some of the cost)
- What sort of cover does the scheme provide?
- Can family members be included?
- Can you upgrade your plan type at your own cost?
- How do you apply?
Are you an employer?
At Southern Cross we know the health and wellbeing of your people is a smart productivity strategy for any business. Because if you look after your people, they’ll look after the business. Your health and wellness programme can include health insurance, wellness programmes and activa health management accounts.
If you have 10 or more employees here are some good reasons to use Southern Cross as an employment benefit:
- Subsidised health cover provides a solid reason for existing employees to stay where they are. And when you do need to recruit, it can help to make your workplace attractive to the best candidates.
- Health and wellness can contribute to increased productivity by supporting your employees’ ability to achieve and reducing the number of sick days taken. A healthier workforce also results in stronger ‘championing’ of the company to others.
- There is a measurable link between a person’s health and lifestyle and how productive they are at work.
