What sort of plan is this?

UltraCare is our most extensive plan. It provides comprehensive cover for a wide range of surgical treatments and day-to-day healthcare services. Plus you have the option of adding cover for dental and optical treatment.

What does UltraCare include?

UltraCare base includes cover* for qualifying surgical treatment, surgical allowances, recovery, support, imaging, tests, consultations, non-surgical hospitalisation and day-to-day treatment (including chiropractor, osteopath, dietitian and podiatrist visits). For full details including limitations and exclusions please refer to the policy document ►

*cover means the lowest of the actual costs or reasonable charges.

UltraCare 100 offers the same comprehensive benefits as the UltraCare base plan as well as up to $100 per claims year for dental care.

UltraCare 400 offers the same comprehensive benefits as the UltraCare base plan, as well as up to $400 per claims year for dental care and up to $400 per claims year for spectacles and contact lenses.

How affordable is it?

UltraCare is Southern Cross’ most comprehensive plan, so it comes with a higher premium than other more basic plans. However, the wide range of benefits gives you greater peace of mind. For people who want the best, UltraCare delivers ultra reassurance.
You may be able to lower your premiums through our:

  • healthy lifestyle reward -if you have a healthy lifestyle (and aren’t part of a subsidised work scheme) we’ll reduce your premiums for up to two years; or
  • low claims reward ► if you don’t claim over the low claims threshold.

How do you buy it?

UltraCare is available directly from Southern Cross, or it may be available through your employer's work scheme.
