What sort of plan is this?

HealthAssist is an alternative to health insurance and intended to be complementary to the public or private health system. It is a simple value-for-money plan that provides a helping hand for managing your day-to-day healthcare needs and when recovering from a major illness.

What level of reimbursement does it offer?

In most cases the amounts payable will provide a contribution to the costs of specified day to day healthcare expenses and are likely to be less than the actual charges you incur. You will be required to pay the balance of the charges yourself. In the event of major illness, HealthAssist provides a one-off lump sum payment of $10,000. You can spend the lump sum payment on anything you like, whether it’s healthcare, overseas travel or home modifications. For full details including limitations and exclusions please refer to the policy document.
